GROUT:
THE FINISHING TOUCH

Grout is a small detail with big consequences for the overall look of your tile.  With three different types of grout (sanded, unsanded, epoxy), many color choices, and tile spacing considerations, this is one choice you want to get right. It starts with choosing the appropriate color. If your grout matches the color of your tiles, it will make them the main focus. On the other hand, a contrasting color will place the emphasis on the shape and layout of your tiles. A good choice if you want a bolder look. A neutral color will fall somewhere in between. It’s a safe bet if you’re undecided.

As for the grout itself, we like Kiesel grout. With 26 colors to choose from, you can easily find the look you’re after for any type of tile. The cement-based Kiesel grout does not require any sealing. It is mold and mildew resistant as well as stain-resistant. Kiesel also offers a grout for high traffic areas and wet conditions.

When it comes time to spacing tile, 1/8”, 3/8” and 3/16” are the most common choices but here again each has a distinct or sometimes subtle difference in the appearance you want to achieve.

At Canyon Tile & Stone, we know grout so you can know better. Ask us about grout. It’s the finishing touch we can help you get right.
